The client
The challenge
As renowned maritime outfitters in safety gear, Scandia believes that the best way to connect with their target audience is to live and breathe the industry – which translates into the requirement for a very unique exhibition booth design for a local tradeshow. While the typical preference for an exhibition booth lies in the polished, luxurious appearance, Scandia sought us to build the complete opposite: Rough and rugged customized furniture that recreates the environment aboard a ship, aligning the design with the industrial nature of their business.
PUNKTLANDUNG is always welcoming of challenging inquiries so as to consistently prove that we can build anything and everything, bringing our client´s brand philosophy and corporate identity to life.
The solution
We worked with a combination of massive glass, metal and matte black paint furnishing on the rough surface of all furniture. Metal hooks and bolts were placed all over the builds to create the inquired industrial look. We only had limited space to place an eye catcher at the exhibition stand. A table made out of an oil drum, which we painted in the blue company colour, and topped with their branding draw the attention of the visitors.
The oil drum, bar counter and cupboard were all made up by easily fixing two or three items together into one, so that we could deliver to the client’s added expectations of an easily-shippable, flexible, and light exhibition booth for their convenient reuse for similar future events and to be quickly built up without any help of external exhibition agents. Hence extra care was taken to ensure everything was stable in construction and durable, when exhibition booths were usually constructed for one-time use. With that, Scandia was very pleased with the outcome as we have not only delivered solutions for their specific requirements, but also aided them in attaining cost-efficiency and delivering a product that lasts for several shows during the coming years.
